Huge Quantity of Arms, ammunition seized
in SW Pakistan

QUETTA: The Pakistan Coast
Guards seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition in a raid conducted in
Gwadar, some 832-km off here, officials said on Friday.
The arms and ammunition are believed to be smuggled in the Gwadar city for
committing terrorism, officials said.
According to the sources, the Coast Guards, after receiving some information
regarding the smuggling of arms and ammunition made a comprehensive planning
to seize the weapons and arrest the culprits. The security personnel blocked
the road and started searching the vehicles.
As the vehicle of smugglers entered the area, they opened fire on the
security personnel and tried to flee.
But due to the proper planning of the security forces, they managed to seize
weapons and arrest four terrorists, who were later handed over to the
personnel of a sensitive agency.
The weapons include two 12.7 anti-aircraft guns, 160 anti-aircraft gun
ammunition, two 75-MM rifle barrels, 15 rounds of 75-MM rifle’s ammunition,
three rocket launchers, six rockets, three Kalashnikoves, 2,341 rounds of
Kalashnikoves, 15 hand grenades, two mount medium machine guns, 64 rounds of
14.5 anti-aircraft gun and one wireless set.
Further investigations are in progress.●
