Blair urges India, Pakistan
to resolve issues through Dialogue

Prime Minister Wednesday urged on Pakistan and India to resolve their
bilateral issues through dialogues.
“Over last some years the world has undergone dramatic changes and given the
situation Pakistan and India should resolve their bilateral issues through
dialogues”, he said.
This he said while addressing a joint press conference here with his Indian
counterpart Manmohan Singh. The joint press conference followed a detailed
meeting between the two leaders.
Blair said: “India is country with measurably a big population and its
economy is growing at high pace.
And European Union’s strategic partnership with India would boost economic
cooperation. Whereas, more measures would be taken to augment cooperation in
the fields of science and technology. ”
However, a high level trade group would be set up to attain these goals,
told the UK prime minister to the reports.
Indian prime minister said “Indian government has approved a bill of US$ 200
million for purchasing 43 passenger planes from European Union and this
trade is a symbol of growing bilateral relations between EU and India.
The press conference was attended by president EU’ Commission and answered a
range of questions of newsmen.
Call by Israel
Meanwhile, a report from Tel Aviv says that Israel has welcomed Pak-India
peace process, saying that it is backing Shimla pact for resolving long
standing issue of Kashmir and other bilateral issues between the two giant
South Asian economies.
Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom in his interview to a local newspaper
said: “The Israeli government supports Shimla accord 1972 as agreed between
India and Pakistan and urges both of them to resolve their all bilateral
issues including Kashmir according to it.”
He also said that Israeli government hailed peace process between India and
Pakistan.●
