Pakistani dies of heart attack in US jail

NEW YORK (US): Pakistani national Tanveer Ahmed, who was arrested by US authorities for violating immigration laws, died of heart attack in US authorities' custody.

According to details issued by Consulate General of Pakistan in New York, late Tanveer Ahmed died after he suffered cardiac arrest on September 10, upon which Consulate General expressed deep grief.

However, US Bureau of Immigration said that the deceased was detained in Men Mouth County Jail Free Hold, New Jersey and was waiting for deportation.

It recollected that Tanveer Ahmed was suffering from chest pains on September 10 and he was examined by Jail doctor and later rushed to Central State Hospital where he died.●
