Mirwaiz supports Pakistan's efforts for Kashmir cause

NEW YORK (US): The Chairman
of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has supported the
dialogue process and efforts being made by the Government of Pakistan and
President Pervez Musharraf for the resolution of Kashmir problem.
He said this during a news conference in New York after meeting with
President Pervez Musharraf at his hotel Friday evening.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said during the meeting he discussed with the President
Indo-Pakistan dialogue saying the APHC supported it but wanted the process
to be speeded up.
He informed the President about APHC’s meeting with the Indian Prime
Minister.
“For the first time Kashmiri leadership has become part of the process for
the resolution of Kashmir problem as they are being taken into confidence,”
Mirwaiz said.
“We will be ready to contribute to the solution of the problem and
presenting proposals during the second round of talks with Indian Prime
Minister,” he added.
Mirwaiz called for an end to human rights violations in the Indian-led
Kashmir.
Umar Farooq said the APHC leadership will visit Pakistan after another
meeting with the ndian Prime Minister.
The APHC Chairman said President Pervez Musharraf assured him Pakistan’s
support for the Kashmiris cause would continue.
In reply to a question, he said there is no stalemate in the dialogue
process between Pakistan and India on Kashmir issue.●
