Mobilink sends relief goods for quake victims of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Sensing its responsibility at the time of national disaster and to share the burden of the government of Pakistan in the ongoing relief efforts for the quake victims, the top, apex and most popular mobile phone network of Pakistan, Mobilink GSM has dispatched a consignment of relief goods to the affected areas of NWFP.

The relief goods include free connections, scratch cards, mobile phone sets. 15 vehicles carrying relief goods which include medicines, blankets, warm clothing, biscuits, dry milk, juices and other food items along with a team of communication experts of the Company.

The relief goods would be delivered in the most affected areas of Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot and Shinkiari where majority of the local people are still stranded in damaged buildings or camped in the open, in the cut off areas and are still desperately waiting for any relief.

The base camp of the relief operation would be set at Mansehra from where the whole operation would be launched. Besides the company would also set up free call centers at affected areas so that the public does not face any difficulty in maintaining easy and speedy connection with their families.

A spokesman of the Mobilink GSM said that the Company would launch more relief operations in other areas as well.

Mobilink GSM is also making adequate arrangements for sending large-scale aid to the quake-hit areas of Azad Kashmir.●
