Nation in Pakistan prays for forgiveness

ISLAMABAD: The people of Pakistan all over the couPakistanis offer Friday prayer in Peshawar. The search for survivors in quake-hit Pakistan was being abandoned as rescuers battling blocked roads and a shortage of helicopters focused on getting aid to remote mountain villages.ntry observed Friday prayers as the day of payers for forgiveness in the wake of massive earthquake, wreaking havocs of mammoth proportions last week.

The Ulemas in the Friday prayers across the country specially prayed for the solace and salvation of the souls of those thousands of people who had perished in the earthquake and for early recovery of those wounded besides for the success of relief and rehabilitation works.

The Ulemas on this occasion urged the faithful to generously help their traumatized brethren, expressing their solidarity with them at this hour of trial. They called for national solidarity, unity and promotion of brotherhood in people.

Special prayers


Special prayers wereheld in Faisal mosque, Lal Masjid, Jama Masjid Secretariat, Jama Masjid Farooqia and other mosques in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi during Friday prayers.

Federal Ministers Aftab Sherpao and Ijaz-ul-Haq also attended special prayers at Jama Masjid Secretariat.●
