Gaddafi’s son visits quake-hit areas in NW Pakistan

MANSEHRA: Libyan President, Muammar Gaddafi’s son and President, International Gaddafi Foundation For Charity, Saiful Islam Gaddafi visited today the earthquake-ravaged areas of NWFP and laid the foundation stone of a model village at Shawwal.

Saiful Islam Muammar Gaddafi visited Balakot devastated areas here and inaugurated the construction of a model village at a place called Shawwal for rehabilitation of the affected people.

The total cost of the model village would be borne by the government of Libya.

Federal Interior Minister, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and Federal Minister of State for Reforms, Aneesa Zeb also accompanied with Saiful Islam Gaddafi, who visited Balakot affected areas and distributed relief goods among the victims besides laying the foundation stone of the envisaged model village.

Earlier the Libyan official was given a briefing on the havoc wreaked in quake wrecked areas and the undergoing relief activities over there.

He was told that NWFP province and Azad Kashmir were severely hit by the earthquake, where over 55,000 people perished and more than 0.3 million people were rendered homeless.●
