Pakistan's CBR increases tax exemption period for Relief Goods
Pakistan Times Business & Commerce Desk

ISLAMABAD: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has announced that it would not levy any tax on relief goods for Pakistan’s quake victims by next three months.

The CBR has further increased sales and income tax and custom duty exemption period unto three months on relief goods, according to a statement issued by the CBR.

Earlier, the CBR had exempted the sales tax for only thirty days, whereas it had written off income tax and custom duty on the relief goods.

However, since the exemption period of one month ended and has now been further increased to three months.

The CBR’s decision would be applicable on blanket, tents, medicines, food items and machinery usable in relief operation.●
