Benazir urges Bush for Democracy Restoration in Pakistan

WASHINGTON: Pakistan's ex-Prime Minister and People’s Party Chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto urged US President George Bush to stress Pakistan government to work for the restoration of democracy in the country.

Ms Benazir’s article was published on editorial page of a US-based daily, where she underscored the importance of the democracy for the furtherance of American interests in Central Asian and East Asian countries including Pakistan.

The PPP Chairperson is reported to have said that; "US aid for Pakistan should be made conditional on real political reforms in the country".●
