Pakistan is Reliable Ally in War against Terror: Crocker

QUETTA: US Ambassador in Pakistan Ryan C Crocker on Monday said that Pakistan is the most reliable ally in war against terrorism and has paid a heavy price in this war.

Talking to newsmen while inaugurating Parliamentary Information Technology Resource Centre (PITRC) in Balochistan Assembly, he said,”we have a common enemy which is cunning and adopts various tactics; hence, we also need to change our strategy to overwhelm our enemy.

The role played by Pakistan in this war has no example and is unequivocal”, he added.

Crocker said that the two countries will continue to cooperate with each other to defeat terrorists in future also. Pakistan and United States enjoy good friendly relations. “My stay in Pakistan spanning over two and a half years was very positive, he added.

Earlier, the Ambassador inaugurated the Balochistan Assembly Parliamentary Information Technology Resources Centre.

The resource centre, a major component of the $8 million USAID Pakistan Legislative Strengthening Project (PLSP) initiated in 2005, is part of an overall program to build the capacity of all four provincial assemblies as well as the national Assembly and Senate.

It is one of the four such resource centres being opened in the provincial assemblies in Pakistan.●
