Undeclared curfew imposed in occupied Kashmir
'Pakistan Times' Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR (IHK): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities imposed undeclared curfew in Srinagar, Badgam, Pulwama, Shopian and Islamabad districts to prevent people from holding anti-election demonstrations after Juma prayers on Friday.

The authorities had placed under house arrest the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Fazl Haq Qureshi and Mian Abdul Qayoom. They were not allowed even to offer Juma prayers.

Juma congregational prayers in the historic Jamia Masjid of Srinagar could not be held for the fourth consecutive Juma, reports KMS. Indian troops barged into a house at Dandipora in Islamabad and gang-raped a 13-year-old girl.

Thousands of people took to streets against the inhuman incident and raised full-throated anti-India and pro-liberation slogans. Situation in the area is reported to be tense.

APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja visited the victim and her family to express solidarity with them. Despite strict restrictions, people staged anti-polls demonstrations in Beerwah, Sopore and many other areas of occupied Kashmir.

On the other hand, the illegally detained member of the Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee, Maulana Showkat Ahmed Shah was admitted to Soura Medical Institute in Srinagar after his health deteriorated at Sumbal Police Station. A shepherd was killed in Indian army's firing at Nonihal in Rajouri.
