'Pakistan Times' Wire Service

BAGHDAD: At least ten people were killed in bomb attacks in the Iraqi capital and around the country on Sunday, security officials said.

Five civilians and a security guard were killed and seven others wounded when a bomb targeting oil installation guards exploded in the southern oil hub of Basra, police said.

In Baghdad, a civil servant working at the interior ministry was among two people killed when a magnetic bomb attached to a car blew up in District Adhamiyah.

Eight other people were wounded by the blast in the former Al-Qaeda stronghold.

Earlier on Sunday, at least 15 people were wounded in a car-bomb attack at a marketplace near the northern city of Mosul, police said. The attack took place in Al-Gayara.
