| NAB submits to SC authentic list of 248 NRO beneficiaries Pakistan Times Federal Bureau ISLAMABAD: A list of 248 persons against whom cases were revoked under the National Reconciliation Ordinance was submitted to the Supreme Court here Tuesday by the National Accountability Bureau. NAB Additional Prosecutor General (APG) Abdul Baseer Qureshi submitted the list and assured it was authentic and error-free. A 17-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is hearing identical writs against the NRO filed by Dr Mobashir Hassan, a former PPP stalwart, and Roedad Khan, a retired bureaucrat. To a query by the Chief Justice, the NAB official apprised that he had not compared the list with that of the Ministry of Law. He however, he assured with full responsibility that NAB had fulfilled the direction of the court in letter and spirit by submitting an authentic list signed by its chairman. The APG said the list contained names, nature of cases and alleged monetary gains. He said the list contained NAB cases in which investigation was carried out, inquires were held or appeals had been filed. To another question he said that only two cases pertaining to Cotecna and SGS were outside the country and their record was not available with NAB for the time being. The list contained names of politicians as well as former government officials.
